Volkswagen Automobile Factory
The Volkswagen Automobile Factory is located in the industrial park in Kaluga, which is one of the centers of the Russian automotive industry. Volkswagen and Skoda cars as well as Volkswagen commercial vehicles are produced in this plant with a planned capacity of 150,000 vehicles per year. With a total construction area of 150,275 m2, the automobile factory consists of four parts: the assembly facility, the warehouse facility, the coachwork facility and the quality-control facility. As a general contractor, Inka Construction, the subsidiary of KAYI Construction in Russia, successfully accomplished building of the body shop, assembly hall, quality center, guardhouse station and fuel storage / pumping station. In October 2009 Volkswagen started full cycle production including welding and painting.
